Obituary of Glenna Mae Bennett
Glenna Mae (Kimbell) Bennett- On December 11th, 2018 on her own terms, with a smile on her face, Mom left us to be with her late husband Harry and son Keith. Born September 16, 1926 in Toronto, Glenna and Harry settled in Georgetown in 1955. She is survived by her son Brad (Barb), son Kim (Karen), daughter Kelley (Graham) and daughter-in-law Gail. She leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 18 1/3 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Glenna was a proud WWII veteran where she served in Halifax and briefly at Camp X. Mom spent her 14 year nursing career at Georgetown Hospital. At her request there is no visitation or service. Interment will take place in the spring. Glenna was a proud supporter of War Amps and Nature Conservancy of Canada. Her family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Nadia Alam for her compassion and friendship, to Christoph Summer and the staff at Mountainview Terrance and Residence for their care and understanding these past several years. Thank you to everyone who supported Mom over the last months. Quick wit, sharp tongue with no filter and magnetism were her well known personality traits. Her strong will and independent nature were admired and sometimes respected. Mom kept her humour to the end saying "Ding dong the .....".
