Obituary of G. Keith Vaters

G. Keith Vaters. July 20, 1960 to Sept. 18, 2018. Died tragically at the age of 58, while doing what he loved; spending time at his cottage. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Robynne, daughter Christina,(Jordan), daughter Chelsea, (Will), stepsons, Nic and Jordan. Brothers Claude, (Eileen), Glen, (Rose), sisters Gail (Ches Hamlyn), Karen (Cyril Squires), Gloria (Harvey Strickland), and Debbie (Fred Crummey) plus many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his loving parents, Gerald and Lorraine Vaters.

Born in St. John's Nfld, Keith began his career as a marine engineer. He moved to NS in 1986 and then on to Ontario in 1987, settling in Georgetown. In 1989 Keith opened Asbuilt Mechanical, which later became known as Asbuilt Comfortcare. The business flourished in Georgetown and Asbuilt trucks became part of the landscape of Georgetown. Keith had many hobbies including, renovating and building, rebuilding cars, fishing with his dogs (fish on), snowmobiling, and hanging out with his family and friends at his beloved cottage at Riley Lake.

Keith was a maverick and an adventurer whose love of life and fun loving ways were legendary. He mentored many and was an excellent teacher in his trade and in life. Keith could fix anything and at the same time cook a gourmet meal. He was a doting son and a generous soul whose personality and charisma could fill a room. Outspoken and quick witted, Keith was held in high regard not only for his love of his wife, family and friends, his unmatched sense of humour and incredible work ethic, but also for his ability to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. He was a big man with a big vision and he worked his entire life to build that vision. Keith's two daughters, Christina and Chelsea, were his pride and joy. The true love of his life, Robynne, is someone in whom he shared all his pursuits. There will never be another Keith. Rest In Peace.

Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday September 24th at 2:00 pm. Cremation to follow. It was always very important to Keith to be a part of Georgetown and give back to the community. In lieu of flowers contributions to Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills would be appreciated. To send messages of condolence visit www.jsjonesandsonfuneralhome.com
