Obituary of Gordon Sillers

Gordon McBain Sillers
August 18, 1931 - September 25, 2017
Gordon passed away peacefully at 86 years of age on Monday, September 25th, 2017 at the Trillium Health Care Centre, Mississauga. He shared 51 happy years with his beloved wife the late Marie Rose Claudette. He leaves three cherished daughters, Shirley and her husband Norm Fradley, Maureen and her husband Don Breithaupt, and Diane Sillers. He was the dear grandfather of Cara and Michael, Shirley's children, and the brother of Marilyn Cameron. Also mourning his death are members of his wife's extended French-Canadian family.
Gordon graduated from The University of Toronto and spent his entire career as a high school math teacher with the Etobicoke Board of Education. He taught at Royal York Collegiate, and then at West Humber Collegiate where he became Head of the Math Department until he retired in 1990. Gordon was a modest, gracious man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: family dinners each night, walks in the park with his wife, and piling the whole family into the car for road trips to Quebec and the U.S.
